THIS IS WHAT RESISTANCE LOOKS LIKE

The images in this gallery page capture the spirit of Indivisible Douglas County — a grassroots force standing up to authoritarianism, corporate greed, and political corruption. These aren’t just photos; they’re proof that ordinary people in Southern Oregon are rising up, getting organized, and refusing to be silent. Every rally, march, sign, and gathering shown here is part of the fight to defend democracy and demand a government that serves the people — not the powerful.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND I-5 BANNER DROPS

Saturday, August 30 & Monday September 1, 2025

Over Labor Day weekend, Indivisible Douglas County mobilized 85 people each day for two major banner drop actions over Interstate 5 in Roseburg, Oregon — part of a coordinated, region-wide protest spanning from the Mexico border to Canada. The timing aligned with peak holiday traffic to ensure maximum visibility for the messages we refuse to let this country ignore.

We dropped seven massive 20-foot banners from the I-5 overpass, with bold messages demanding justice, accountability, and an end to state violence and political corruption. The banners read:

  • Stop Starving Gaza

  • Stop Funding Israel

  • I.C.E. = State Terror

  • Deport I.C.E.

  • Justice For All

  • G.O.P. Protects Pedos

  • Tariffs Are Taxes

These actions called attention to the U.S.-backed atrocities in Gaza, ICE’s campaign of fear and abduction, and the elite protection of pedophiles by figures like Donald Trump and the GOP — all while asserting that silence in the face of this is complicity.

The response from the public was overwhelmingly supportive. Drivers honked in solidarity as they passed underneath the overpass, and we received only positive feedback throughout both days. The event remained entirely peaceful, with no incidents of violence or confrontation.

This was a demonstration of organized dissent — visible, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore.

Standing With the Oppressed PROTEST

Saturday, August 16, 2025

On August 16th, 75 people gathered in Roseburg for a peaceful protest to stand in solidarity with communities under violent oppression — both globally and here at home. The crowd was focused, disciplined, and united by a shared refusal to look away from injustice.

We took action to oppose the U.S.-funded genocide and famine in Gaza, rejecting the idea that mass displacement, starvation, and killing can ever be justified or ignored. What’s happening is not “complicated” — it’s criminal.

We also stood against ICE’s reign of terror — a system of raids, kidnappings, and harassment targeting immigrants, asylum seekers, and even U.S. citizens. These are not isolated incidents. They are part of a deliberate, state-driven campaign to instill fear and erase rights.

And we demanded accountability from those in power — including Donald Trump and the GOP — who continue to shield perpetrators of child abuse by obstructing the full release of the Epstein files and silencing survivors.

This protest was peaceful, but clear in its purpose: to confront systems of violence, name them for what they are, and refuse to normalize them.

HANDS OFF OUR NEIGHBORS PROTEST

Saturday, July 12, 2025

On Saturday, July 12th, 75 members of our Roseburg community gathered in peaceful protest to denounce the Trump administration’s illegal and authoritarian use of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — a federal agency responsible for carrying out warrantless, racially targeted arrests across the United States.

This was not a hypothetical threat. ICE operations have taken place in cities across the country — from Los Angeles to New York — and right here in Oregon. Communities in Portland, Medford, and beyond have witnessed these aggressive, unjustified actions firsthand. Under the guise of “immigration enforcement,” ICE has engaged in racialized state violence, targeting immigrants and communities of color with no regard for constitutional rights, human dignity, or due process.

We protested because silence in the face of these abuses is complicity. We protested because what happens anywhere in this country affects all of us. And we protested because justice requires action — even in places like Roseburg, far from the spotlight.

  • We said no more.

  • No more silence.

  • No more complicity.

No more racialized terror disguised as policy.

Our protest was entirely peaceful. No arrests. No unrest. Just 75 people standing together — shoulder to shoulder — to say that we will not accept a system that criminalizes identity, punishes migration, or disappears our neighbors under the color of law.

This is what resistance looks like. And we are just getting started.

NO WAR ON IRAN PROTEST

Saturday, July 5, 2025

More than 200 community members gathered with us in Roseburg over the 4th of July holiday weekend to protest the Trump administration’s illegal actions against Iran and its harmful policies overall.

This protest followed Trump’s signing of his so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” (H.R. 1) — which many are calling the “Big Bullshit Bill” — on July 4th. We were speaking out against cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, the Affordable Care Act, and other essential aid programs that will harm countless Americans. It’s estimated that nearly 200,000 Oregonians could lose their healthcare because of this legislation and the failure of Republican Congressman Cliff Bentz (R-OR) to stand up and protect his constituents.

Once again, our protest remained entirely peaceful, with no incidents of violence or unrest. However, a group of trucks targeted us multiple times by “coal rolling,” clearly opposing our message and disregarding our First Amendment right to protest. We believe these drivers are coordinating with each other. Along with reporting them to the proper authorities, we’ll also be sharing images of their very public actions here.

No Kings Day Protest

Saturday, June 14, 2025

More than 2,000 residents gathered in Roseburg as part of a nationwide wave of protests known as No Kings Day — a coordinated demonstration against the ongoing authoritarian overreach of the Trump administration. Organized nationally by over 100 activist organizations including Indivisible and 50501, the event was locally led by Indivisible Douglas County, and marks one of the largest political protests in Roseburg’s history.

The protest was entirely peaceful, with no incidents of violence or unrest. Despite online rumors falsely claiming protesters were coming to riot, the reality was clear: this was a nonviolent, constitutionally protected demonstration.

Roseburg’s rally was one of more than 2,100 coordinated protests across the United States on June 14 — the same day Americans across the country marked the 250th birthday of the United States Army, which coincided with Donald Trump’s birthday. While the militarized parade in Washington, D.C. drew sparse crowds, long wait times, and miserable weather, the No Kings Day movement drew an estimated 4 to 6 million Americans into the streets to reject authoritarianism and reclaim the flag for the people.

DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION: STAND UP FOR VETERANS

Friday, June 6, 2025

We stood against the Trump Administration’s cuts to the Veteran’s Administration, VA healthcare, mental healthcare, and the privatization of the VA system. It was a beautiful day with plenty of honks of support for our demonstrators.
